CNAE 2009 version

Schober’s Business and Executive databases can also be segmented by business activity applying CNAE 2009 version (National Classification of Business Activities).

The CNAE classification is widely used in Spain. Once a business is set up and registered with the Trade Register, the company creates an activity code with the CNAE. It is also a catalogue of names from which the National Institute of Statistics (INE), by permanent means, generates and adds statistical information about the business fabric in Spain.

The CNAE code is one which consists of 4 digits, each of which represents a more specific activity level. The first digits refer to the generic activity of each business and the following digits specify in greater detail, said activity.

In addition, the Spanish CNAE classification is compatible with the business activity classification of the European Community, NACE.
